Taking care of your swimsuits doesn't have to be complicated! When we purchase a swimsuit that we absolutely love, we want it last forever.  Although forever is a long time, we certainly can take measures to keep them in tip top shape. 

Follow these simple tips to keep your favorite piece in optimal condition for your next dip in the river, beach, pool or wherever the road may take you:

  1. Changing out of your swimsuit? Hand wash it immediately with mild soap (we recommend baby soaps). Ideally, it should be fragrance free. Detergents can be harmful to your suimsuit, as even a little bit can lead to color fading. It goes without saying, but just in case, never use bleach or other harmful chemicals. Your swimsuit will thank you!
  2. Resist the urge to squeeze it out of excess water! Doing so turns out to be the fastest way to wear it down so that the spandex loses its shape and elasticity. 
  3. Better dry it on a flat surface to keep its shape and avoid stretching it.
  4. Warning: Never, ever place it in the dryer! The excess tumbling and extra heat will definitely wear it out faster.  Also, hanging it out to dry will only lead to unwanted stretching.
  5. Extra tip: You can place it on a towel, roll up the towel and squeeze gently. Unroll the towel, remove it from the towel and place it on a flat surface and let it dry.
  6. Spandex, strectches with frequent wear, so consider alternating your swimwear. By swapping your swimsuits, you ensure that each piece returns to its original shape and keeps it for a longer period of time.
  7. When storing your bathing suit, place it in a cloth garment bag to prevent moisture from entering and keep the bag in a dry area. Otherwise, you will find that it gives off an unpleasant smell of mold. (Ugh, nobody wants to deal with that hassle)
  8. Last but not least, enjoy the process! Taking care of our clothing pieces will always make them look new, fresh and radiant!

 

Consejos para que dure tu traje de baño favorito:

¡Cuidar tus trajes de baño no tiene por qué ser complicado! Cuando compramos un traje de baño que nos encanta, queremos que dure para siempre. Aunque “para siempre” es mucho tiempo, ciertamente podemos tomar medidas para mantenerlos en su mejor estado. 

Sigue estos sencillos consejos para mantener tu pieza favorita en óptimas condiciones para tu próximo chapuzón en el río, la playa, la piscina o a cual sea tu destino:

  1. ¿Es hora de quitarte el traje de baño? Lávalo a mano inmediatamente con jabón suave (recomendamos jabones para bebés). Idealmente, debería estar libre de fragancias. Los detergentes pueden ser dañinos para tu traje de baño, ya que incluso un poquito puede hacer que el color se desvanezca. No hace falta decirlo, pero por si acaso, nunca use blanqueador u otros productos químicos nocivos. ¡Tu bañador te lo agradecerá!
  1. ¡Resiste la tentación de exprimirlo del exceso de agua! Hacerlo resulta ser la forma más rápida de desgastarlo para que el “spandex” pierda su forma y elasticidad.

Es mejor secarlo sobre una superficie plana para mantener su forma y evitar estirarlo. 

Advertencia: ¡Nunca, nunca lo coloques en la secadora! El exceso de rotación y el calor adicional definitivamente lo desgastarán más rápido. Además, colgarlo para que se seque solo provocará un estiramiento no deseado.

Consejo extra: puedes colocarlo sobre una toalla, enrollar la toalla y apretar suavemente. Desenrolla la toalla, sácala de la toalla y colócala sobre una superficie plana y déjala secar.

  1. El Spandex, se estira con el uso frecuente, así que considera alternar tu traje de baño. Al cambiar tus trajes de baño, te aseguras de que cada pieza vuelva a su forma original y se mantenga en su mejor estado durante un período de tiempo más largo.
  1. Cuando guardes tu traje de baño, colócalo en una bolsa de tela para ropa, para evitar que entre humedad, y manten la bolsa en un área seca. De lo contrario, encontrarás que emite un olor desagradable a moho. (¡Uf! nadie quiere lidiar con esa molestia)

Por último, y no menos importante, ¡disfruta el proceso! ¡Cuidar de nuestras piezas de ropa harán que siempre luzcan nuevas, frescas y radiantes!
